Man arrested after home invasion, hostage situation in Crenshaw County
A man has been arrested following a home invasion and hostage situation in Crenshaw County.
The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said it started just after 11AM today at a home in the 3000 block of Campground Church Road. ALEA State Troopers, SBI agents and SWAT Team members responded to the scene to help the Sheriff’s Office.
ALEA says the suspect fired a gun at three people, but no one was hit or injured.
The suspect has been identified as 62-year-old Jerrol Leon McLeod of Luverne.
ALEA says he came out of the home and was taken into custody. McLeod has been charged with three counts of attempted murder and first-degree burglary. He was booked into the Crenshaw County Jail with no bond.
No other information was released. The case will be turned over to the Crenshaw County District Attorney’s Office.
