ROAD CONDITIONS: Thursday morning update

Action 8 News is monitoring road conditions as snow continues to make travel difficult in some areas.

FROM THE ALABAMA LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCY:

The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) are still monitoring and treating roadways as needed.

 

MONTGOMERY POST:

Montgomery County: U.S. 31 reports of ice near the 160 mile marker.

Lowndes County: Interstate 65 reports of ice near the 151 mile marker.

 

OPELIKA POST:

Macon County: Interstate 85 north and southbound are passable, however, still have reports of ice in several locations. Reports of ice on U.S. 80 eastbound near Brown Road in Tuskegee. U.S. 29 northbound near Alabama 186 is blocked because of a tractor-trailer blocking the roadway, crews currently in enroute to clear the truck and treat the roadway.

Lee County: Interstate 85 north and southbound are passable, however, still have reports of ice in several locations.

Bullock County: All county roads, state and federal highways are passable but still have ice in several locations, please use caution.

Russell County: U.S. 80 has tractor-trailers stuck on the roadway in multiple locations due to ice. Alabama 165 also has reports of ice in multiple locations, please use caution.

 

ALEX CITY POST:

Chambers County: Reports of ice on Interstate 85 south and northbound lanes, however, passable at this time.
