City of Selma to make emergency sewer line repair
The City of Selma is making an emergency repair after sewage backed up into homes.
According to the city, on Monday, January 6, the Public Works Sewer Division was made aware of sewage backup in the area of Cedar Drive and Carol Street. The city said the main sewer line had collapsed, causing backup in the homes to the right and left side of Cedar Drive.
The city said waste was also saturating the yards of both homes.
The Selma City Council has voted to hire Jerry and John Woods Construction to make an emergency repair.
Mayor James Perkins, Jr., says he commends Director Hicks, Public Works Sewer Division and Jerry and John Woods Construction for acting fast to provide a heathy and safe environment for the people in that area.
