More unusually cold nights are coming this week
Montgomery’s airport temperature remained at or below freezing from 6 PM Monday through noon today, bottoming out at 13 degrees early Wednesday morning. The city’s record low for January 22nd is listed as 12 degrees in 1985.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday’s official snowfall total for the Capital City was 0.5 inches. Troy’s official snowfall measured 4.0 inches, and heavier amounts were reported in other parts of South Alabama.
Much of the snow melted or vaporized today with a full supply of sunshine, but icy patches could develop overnight as temperatures drop below 20 degrees again.
