Construction underway to expand emergency department at Baptist Medical Center South
Construction is underway to expand the emergency department at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery.
The expansion will give the hospital 30 new treatment areas. The $14 million project will add more than 11,000 square feet toe the emergency department.
The work is expected to take about 12 months. In the meantime, the service road in front of the hospital will be closed, as well as the front emergency department parking and surrounding entrances. Fences have been put up.
Emergency department parking spaces will be available in the parking lot behind the UAB Medicine building, with an entrance at the cafeteria hallway near the ambulance parking.
