Rain Sunday night into Monday, a warmer last week of January
After a sunny Saturday, clouds returned to the sky Sunday. Some rain returned to west Alabama during the late afternoon. Rain spread east across more of our area during the evening. At 10PM most of the rain was near and north of highway 80. However, rain gradually spreads across the rest of our area Sunday night into Monday morning. Most locations pick up half an inch to one inch of beneficial rain.
Temperatures only fall into the mid 40s at most Sunday night, so just rain, nothing frozen this time around. Monday afternoon looks drier. However, the sky remains mostly cloudy with highs in the mid to upper 50s. Temperatures may fall into the 30s Monday night if the sky clears. Tuesday looks partly cloudy with high temperatures in the mid 60s.
Our area remains mainly dry but mostly cloudy Wednesday and Thursday. Temperatures could be rather warm each afternoon. Rain likely returns Friday. Some thunder could be in the mix this time. Next weekend now looks mainly dry. Plus, February may begin rather warm. High temperatures may be in the low 70s Saturday, Sunday, and next Monday.
