Two arrests made in theft of more than $28,000 in property in Lee County
Two people from Notasulga face charges in a theft of more than $28,000 in guns and other property in Lee County.
The Lee County Sheriff’s Office says on November 5, 2024, a resident reported a burglary and theft in the 200 block of Lee County Road 690, which is in the Beauregard community. The victim reported that several guns, firearm accessories, ammunition, reloading equipment, reloading components and various tools were stolen. These items taken were valued at $28,090.
On January 17, Macon County Sheriff’s Office investigators recovered one of the stolen guns while executing a search warrant in the 1200 block of Hardwich Street in Notasulga, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
On January 23, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office, the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and the Notasulga Police Department executed an additional search warrant at the same address in Notasulga. During the search, investigators recovered approximately $25,000 worth of the property stolen from Lee County, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office said.
42-year-old Thomas Harold Bullington, III and his girlfriend, 53-year-old Alicia Christine Johnson, both from Notasulga, were arrested, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
Bullington was arrested by the Macon County Sheriff’s Office and is being held in the Macon County Jail on unrelated charges.
Johnson was arrested and charged with burglary in the third degree and theft of property in the first degree. She is being held in the Lee County Jail on an $8,000 bond. Bullington will be charged in Lee County when he is released, according to the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.
