A single mother in Selma now has a new career in the high-paying field of aviation — after completing an advanced training program at Craig Field in Selma.

Paige Pritchett graduated from the Advanced ATC training program last year — a highly trained certified air traffic controller.

The program features several weeks of classroom and simulator work — in addition to on the job training in the Craig Field control tower.

Waka Atcprogram0128 Fox PkgPritchett says the program was challenging — but worth it.

“Starting off as an entry-level controller you can make 60 K. And within three years you can go to six figures,” she said.

“I’m able to move out from with my mom. I’m not stressed about bills.”
