Chilton County Sheriff’s deputies searching for suspects following shooting

The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects following a shooting.

The shooting happened earlier today off of County Road 61, according to Sheriff John Shearon. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The sheriff says deputies had set up a perimeter around the area with a K9 unit to search for two suspects, described as a Black male and a white male, both around 18-20 years old. They had asked people living in that area to keep their doors locked.

Since then, the sheriff said the search has ended without locating the suspects. Investigators believe the suspects left the area before they arrived. They say they want to assure the community that the shooting was an isolated incident.
