Boy suffers life-threatening injuries in Montgomery shooting

Montgomery police need your help finding the person responsible for a shooting that left a boy seriously injured.

Police say the shooting happened at about 12:30 this morning in the 3200 block of Raintree Drive, which is off Virginia Loop Road just outside of the bypass. According to Central Alabama CrimeStoppers, the boy was hit when someone shot into a building.

The boy, whose age hasn’t been released, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Police want to find a red Nissan Altima, which may be connected to the shooting, according to CrimeStoppers, which is offering a $5,000 reward to solve the case.

Police Chief Jim Graboys said at a news conference late this afternoon, “I will not hide my anger at this.” The said the shooting was not a random event.

He called on the people involved to turn themselves in “before things get worse for you.”
