Four people killed in single-car crash in Dallas County

A single-vehicle crash in Dallas County has killed four people who were between 17 and 19 years old.

Alabama State Troopers say an 18-year-old from Wetumpka was driving a car that left the road and hit a tree. The driver was killed.

In addition, three passengers, a 17-year-old from Selma as well as 19-year-old Isaiah McDade of Pike Road and 19-year-old Tyler Jones of Montgomery also died at the scene.

An additional passenger, 19-year-old Deneco Smith of Montgomery, was injured and taken to Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma for treatment. Smith was later taken to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for further care.

Investigators say the 18-year-old, the 17-year-old, McDade, Jones and Smith were not using seat belts at the time of the crash.

The crash happened just before 6:30 last night on U.S. Highway 80, approximately 10 miles east of Selma.
