Man dies of injuries after Marengo County crash
A man has died after a pickup truck crash in Marengo County.
Alabama State Troopers say 54-year-old James Evans of Birmingham was driving the truck, which left the road, went across a private drive and became airborne before landing. Investigators say Evans wasn’t using a seat belt. He was taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital in Demopolis where he died.
A passenger in the truck, 46-year-old George Fulford of Trussville, was injured at taken to Whitfield Regional Hospital for treatment.
The wreck happened at about 3:30 this morning on U.S. Highway 80, about six miles west of Uniontown.
