Drugs seized, two people arrested at Elmore Correctional Facility
The Alabama Department of Corrections says drugs have been seized and two people have been arrested at Elmore Correctional Facility in the town of Elmore.
On Saturday, ADOC’s K-9 team received information relating to people trespassing at the prison. ADOC says the trespassers were trying to smuggle contraband into the prison.
Two suspects were taken into custody. ADOC identifies them as Kemari Rashaun Green and Shaquan Laray Horton.
Officers say they found large quantities of contraband, including controlled substances, in the suspects’ vehicle. Green and Horton were booked into the Elmore County Jail.
Green and Horton are charged with trafficking marijuana, trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, trafficking ecstasy, trafficking hydrocodone, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, attempting to commit a controlled substance crime and promoting prison contraband in the first degree.
ADOC says the following items were recovered: marijuana, methamphetamine, assorted pills, fentanyl, knives, cell phones and cash.
