Montgomery Fire/Rescue Chaplain Ben Alpert dies

The Montgomery Fire/Rescue Department has announced the death of  its chaplain, Ben Alpert.

Alpert died Friday, January 31. A cause of death hasn’t been announced.

In a statement, Montgomery Fire/Rescue said:

“Chaplain Alpert served the citizens of this city and members of Montgomery Fire/Rescue with much compassion and dedication on emergency scenes, during grief counseling and when praying for the safety of the women and men and leaders of this department.

“While there are no words that can ease the pain for his wife Bonnie or his son Nathan, just know that we will always be here during this difficult time.

“Losing someone you love is so hard but may all of the wonderful memories comfort you during this heartbreaking time.

“Montgomery Fire/Rescue extends out deepest condolences to the Alpert Family and Friends during this loss and will be sending healing prayers and comfort in these tough days to come.”
