Rain And Storms Ahead This Week!

A very active weather pattern is ahead for us this week.  There will be periods of rain and storms.  Some storms could be strong to possibly severe Wednesday.  The rain activity should depart just in time for Valentines Day but there’s more rain and storms ahead for the upcoming weekend.

In the meantime,  we have clouds with occasional showers working through the area tonight.  Temps will slowly fall into the 50s for overnight lows.  Tuesday is looking mostly cloudy with showers around but temps should manage to reach the mid 70s for highs.  A frontal boundary will approach the state Wednesday.  This frontal system will help trigger heavier rainfall and strong to possibly severe storms.  The main threats will be damaging wind gust up to 60 mph and a few brief tornadoes.  Everyone will need to be weather aware, especially during the afternoon and evening hours.

Late week is setting up to be a bit quieter than the first half.  High pressure will move in behind the frontal passage.  We expect a mainly sunny sky with temps a bit cooler. High temps will manage the upper 60s with lows in the 40s.   All indications are we see lots of sunshine on your Valentines Day.

The upcoming weekend is looking active with another round of rain and storms.  A cold front will approach the state Saturday.  Rain and storms are likely ahead and along the frontal boundary.  High pressure will come in behind the front and we’re back to mainly sunny and dry conditions Sunday into the first part of next week. Temps will be cooler with highs in the lower 60s and lows in the 40s.
