Investigators say Myrick was found with a handgun that had a machine gun conversion device leaving the scene of the shooting.
The mass shooting happened on the Tuskegee University campus on November 10, 2024. 18-year-old La’Tavion Johnson of Troy was killed in the shooting that injured 16 people, 12 of them suffered gunshot wounds. The shooting happened during the weekend of the school’s 100th homecoming celebration. University officials say Johnson wasn’t a student at the school.
