Valentine’s Day brings “Day of Love” weddings galore in Montgomery

Montgomery County Probate Judge JC Love III took time on Valentine’s Day to perform wedding ceremonies in what he calls the “Day of Love.”

The special Valentine’s Day chapel was decorated by Tommye Cargill Easterly, with chairs, an arch and flowers.

Seventeen couples arrived to get married and start their lives together.

“It makes it very special for the couples,” Judge Love told Action 8 News. “Getting married on Valentine’s Day and just because of that, it’s a day that we really enjoy around here, seeing the couples come in their wedding dresses and tuxedos, and so we just really want to try and make it as special as possible for everyone.”

“It’s special because it’s a way for us to display our love and just live the rest of our lives together. I know that I’m marrying the love of my life,” newly-married couple Roosevelt and Angela Peterson said.

“It’s very special to me. I would say I’ve been waiting for this for my entire life and I’m just thankful I finally found her. It’s exciting for me, and I did make it easier for him because now he only has to get one gift — Valentine’s and our anniversary together,” newly-married couple Garrett and Abby Esco said.

If you want to get married at the Probate Judge’s office, it can be scheduled every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Call the Marriage Division Office at (334) 834-1235 for more information

You will have to bring identification — your birth certificate and a current driver license. You will also need to complete the application for marriage.

All of us at Action 8 wish all of today’s newly-married couples our best wishes!
