Valentine’s Day gifts can cost big money but love is priceless

Love is in the air in Dallas County — and people are digging deep into their pockets — to show their Valentines — how much they care.
Selma Walmart is the go-to destination for people looking for Valentine’s Day gifts — for their special someone.
“Valentine’s Day is like — Love Day,” said Valentine’s Day shopper Amber Cockrell.
“Like you appreciate, it don’t even have to be a significant other, it could be family, friends. It’s just a day about spreading love.
Jeffery Anderson got a teddy bear, two dozen roses and more for his fiance, as a token of his love for her.
“She definitely love flowers you know.
She love jewelry you know. About to get married next week, so, I went on ahead and got her a necklace instead of a ring, cause I already got the ring for next week. So, this was just the last stuff that I had to pick up.
Caden Anderson is also doing it big this Valentines Day for his special someone. He bought a stuffed teddy bear, balloons, cards — and flowers.
“Cause this person I’m doing it for, I care a lot about her. And I’m just ready to show her how much I care for her, how much I love her,” he said.
But Walmart isn’t the only place where people are picking Valentine’s Day gifts.
Barbara Muse sold about a seventy-five Valentine’s Day gift baskets at her tent along Highway 22 in Beloit — before noon.
“It’s been great. It’s been one of the best Valentine’s that we’ve had in a long time,” Muse said.
“This morning when I was setting up they was selling as I was taking them out of the car.”
“You know, trust, love and care, that’s what it’s about to me,” said Caden Anderson.
And you can’t put a price on that.
People are expected to spend $27.5 billion this Valentine’s Day — according to The National Retail Federation.
