Winter cold returns this week; Several dry days, one chance for rain

Sunday turned cooler and windy after the overnight storms departed. Wind gusts were over 30 mph at times. Some sunshine returned, but some clouds lingered overhead through Sunday evening. Clouds gradually clear overnight. The sky should be mostly sunny Monday morning. Temperatures turn even colder overnight, with lows in the low 30s and wind chills in the 20s.

Monday remains cool despite sunshine, with high temperatures in the 50s. Monday night lows fall to near freezing. High temperatures may be in the low 60s in at least some locations Tuesday. Clouds increase Tuesday, but rain holds off until late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. Rain departs Wednesday afternoon, but by the time it does, rain totals range between one quarter and half of one inch across our area.

Thursday and Friday look dry with sunshine but cooler. Afternoon temperatures only warm into the 50s, with lows in the 30s. The weekend remain fairly cool too, with highs in the 50s and lows in the 30s. Saturday and Sunday look partly cloudy and mainly dry. Though a gulf low pressure system may try to produce some rain across south Alabama. Next Monday looks dry and could be slightly warmer.
