Selma police investigating second homicide over the weekend
Selma police are investigating the city’s latest homicide.
Police Chief Kenta Fulford tells Action 8 News that around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, officers were called to the 200 block of Race Street at a local entertainment business.
Once they arrived, they found 45-year-old Terry Wayne Harris dead from an apparent gunshot wound.
Investigators later arrested 34-year-old DShontreil Tarver. Tarver was charged with murder and is currently being held in the Perry Detention Center on no bond, pending a hearing.
This is the second homicide in the city of Selma this weekend. The first shooting happened around 1:55 a.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of Weaver Street.
Chief Fulford said an unidentified 17-year-old male was arrested and charged with murder in the death of a 14-year-old male.
The 17-year-old male is also currently in the Perry Detention Center on no bond, pending his hearing.
