Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., remembered with parade in downtown Montgomery
The annual parade to honor the life of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., which had been postponed due to weather issues in January, has been held in downtown Montgomery.
Monday, marchers held the parade on Dexter Avenue. Despite the postponement, more than 100 participants took to the streets in his memory. The theme for this year’s parade was “A Time to Stand.”
Organizers are still working to reschedule the Family Fun Day and Birthday Bash, which were also postponed due to bitterly cold temperatures in January.
