Abbie Stockard Day declared in the City of Auburn
Reigning Miss America Abbie Stockard is back on the Plains.
The 22-year-old Vestavia Hills native and current Auburn University student returned to the city this week after being away for the Miss America competition.
Stockard, who is also a member of the Tiger Paws, returned to campus to perform during Wednesday night’s Auburn men’s basketball game against Arkansas.
Thursday, Auburn Mayor Ron Anders presented Stockard with an official proclamation and declared February 20 as “Abbie Stockard Day.”
Stockard says she will return to Auburn University in the fall to continue her degree in nursing.
