11 men arrested in Opelika in child exploitation operation
Opelika police have announced that 11 men have been arrested after a two-day child exploitation investigation.
Police say the operation took place on February 20-21, and involved the Lee County District Attorney’s Office, U.S. Department of Homeland Security and Covenant Rescue Group.
These are the people arrested on February 20:
- 40-year-old Courtney Rashad Avery from Opelika, AL, was arrested for Child Solicitation by Computer and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 43-year-old Grant Kisang Lee from Johns Creek, GA, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 21-year-old Ismel Cano Montealegre from Montgomery, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 27-year-old Victor Lewis Dowdell II from Auburn, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 25-year-old Javier Perez from Auburn, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 23-year-old Jacob Andrew Fahringer from Auburn, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.

- 27-year-old Arnulfo Diaz-Alvarado from Dothan, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 22-year-old Efraim Perez Vaquero from Union Springs, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 28-year-old Seungyun Lee from Auburn, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 29-year-old Quyen Huu Nguyen from Auburn, AL, was arrested for two counts of Prostitution with a Minor, two counts of Child Solicitation by Computer, and two counts of Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
- 44-year-old Marcus Savon Wilson from Auburn, AL, was arrested for Prostitution with a Minor, Child Solicitation by Computer, and Traveling to Meet a Child for an Unlawful Sex Act.
Covenant Rescue Group is a nonprofit organization that aims to bring hope and freedom to victims of human trafficking. They partner with law enforcement agencies to provide training and assist in operations.
