A fire broke out Tuesday afternoon at Wayne Farms, a poultry production complex in Union Springs that is a major employer in Bullock County.

Action 8 News is awaiting details about the fire, but it broke out this afternoon at the facility, which is located at 444 Baskin Street.

Bullock County Commissioner Johnny Adams, who also owns the Johnny Adams Law Firm, provided photos to us. Smoke could be seen in the air.

It appears only a small part of the large facility caught fire.

Earlier this month, another fire destroyed part of downtown. The Union Springs Pharmacy and the La Azteca restaurant in the 200 block of North Prairie Street were destroyed. A man has since been arrested in that case.
