Man charged with human trafficking in Chilton County
A man has been arrested in Chilton County on charges of human trafficking involving his girlfriend.
The Chilton County Sheriff’s Office said it performed a welfare check near Jemison. That’s when deputies say they found a female who said she’d been forced into prostitution by her boyfriend.
The case was forwarded to the Chilton County Special Operations Unit.
The sheriff’s office said warrants were obtained for Juan Carlos Marciel-Dominguez on charges of human trafficking in the first degree.
Yesterday, the Special Operations Unit and a Jemison police officer tried to arrest Marciel-Dominguez, the sheriff’s office said. The office said he tried to flee, both in a vehicle and on foot, but was taken into custody.
This investigation is ongoing.
