Sunshine this weekend, but cooler Sunday; Rain/storms next week
Friday was a pleasant day weather-wise, and a nice way to round out February. Sunshine was abundant, with essentially a cloudless sky. Humidity was low, and there was a nice west to northwest breeze. High temperatures were in the low to mid 70s. Temperatures turn cooler Friday night, with lows in the low to mid 40s. That’s near-normal for the end of February/start of March.
Our weekend weather looks pleasant too. Saturday looks mainly sunny with highs in the low to mid 70s. Saturday night looks cooler, thanks to a dry cold front sweeping through Alabama this weekend. Temperatures fall into the 30s Sunday morning. Sunday remains cooler despite a mainly sunny sky, with highs in the 60s. Sunday night looks cold again, with lows in the upper 30s.
Next week begins mainly dry, but clouds increase Monday and Tuesday. Temperatures warm into the low 70s Monday, and mid 70s Tuesday. Rain and storms return either Tuesday night or Wednesday. Some storms may be strong to severe. The storm prediction center places severe weather probabilities mainly west and northwest of our area. Details of severe weather potential remain murky at this time, so check back for updates in the coming days.
A cold front sweeps through Alabama by late Wednesday. Thursday looks drier and cooler, with high temperatures in the 60s. Models now show another weather system bringing some rain to the deep south late next week into next weekend. Some of that rain may affect Alabama late Friday, Friday night, and Saturday.
