Alabama records the series sweep over NDSU

Alabama baseball earned the series sweep over North Dakota State on Sunday, as a seven-run second inning propelled the Crimson Tide to an 11-3 victory at Sewell-Thomas Stadium. The win improves Alabama to 12-0 to start the new season.

Justin Lebron finished 1-for-4, though his lone hit was a grand slam as part of the Tide’s second-inning outburst. The sophomore added a sacrifice fly to his ledger, closing the day with a team-high five RBI. Coleman Mizell managed a 3-for-5 day with one RBI, while Richie Bonomolo Jr. was 3-for-4 with two doubles and one RBI. Jason Torres closed 1-for-4 with a solo homer, his third home run in as many days, with Kade Snell adding a perfect 2-for-2 line with two walks to UA’s offensive performance.

Bobby Alcock (2-0) made his third start of the spring, limiting the Bison to just two runs on four hits. The redshirt senior collected seven strikeouts while walking just one over his 4.0 innings. Austin Morris, Tyler Fay and Coulson Buchanan combined to allow just one unearned run out of the Alabama bullpen, as the trio of relievers collectively tossed five scoreless frames, highlighted by Buchanan striking out the side in the final inning.
