Folks in Montgomery, Wetumpka celebrate Mardi Gras
People in Montgomery and Wetumpka got the chance to celebrate Mardi Gras.
On Saturday, a parade was held in Wetumpka that brought out thousands. Action 8’s Savanna Sabb and Carrington Cole were in Thunder Truck, joining plenty of other parade participants in throwing beads to the crowds.
Also on Saturday, in Montgomery, a block party was held at the lower end of Dexter Avenue with music and plenty of fun.
Over recent years, more and more Mardi Gras celebrations have been held in our part of the state. The first Mardi Gras event in the U.S. was held in Mobile in 1703.
Mardi Gras season will have its finale on Tuesday, known as “Fat Tuesday.”
