Periods Of Rain And Possibly T-storms Over The Weekend
We’re closing in on another weekend and all indications are rain will play a part in it.  It won’t rain all the time but there will be periods of rain and possibly a few t-storms. Basically it’s not a washout but rain gear will be needed at times.
In the meantime, high pressure is over ahead and we’re mainly clear and dry for now.  Clouds will begin to increase and we expect a partly cloudy sky overnight into early Friday. Temps will drop into the upper 30s to lower 40s for lows. Friday is looking rather mild with temps in the 70s for highs under a mostly sunny sky. Southerly winds will help with the warm up but it will also begin to transport moisture back into the region.
The upcoming weekend will be our next opportunity for rain activity. Another frontal system will move into the state Saturday.  This round will be mainly rain with a few t-storms possible overnight Saturday into early Sunday morning. Rainfall potential will range between .50 up to 1 inch. There is a low end threat for a few strong or possibly severe storms across South Alabama. We’re not too concerned at this point but we are keeping an eye on it.  Another surge of moisture will lead to a second round of rain Sunday afternoon into Monday morning. This round looks to be just mainly rain.  We’re turning a bit cooler due to clouds and rain activity Sunday. High temps will only manage the mid 60s Sunday afternoon.
Next week is looking mainly sunny and much warmer by midweek. We’re expecting highs in the mid to upper 70s with the possibility of a few spots reaching the 80 degree mark. Morning temps will come up as well. You can expect 40s for the early half of the week with 50s returning by Thursday morning.
Don’t forget to turn your clocks ahead one hour before going to bed this Saturday night. It’s that time of the year to spring forward.
