ACTION 8 UPDATE: The Alabama Department of Corrections says escaped inmate Antonio McCoy has been recaptured. No other details were provided.

The Alabama Department of Corrections is looking for an escaped inmate who may be in the Alexander City area.

ADOC says Antonio McCoy left his assigned job location at approximately 8:00AM today in Alexander City.

McCoy is 48 years old. He is described as 5’8″ tall and 178 pounds.

He is serving a 35-year sentence for robbery in a 1997 case from Jefferson County. He was assigned to minimum security.
