YMCA building brighter futures in annual campaign

There was construction at the YMCA on Bell Road, but instead of building another structure, they were building brighter futures.

The YMCA of Greater Montgomery kicked off their annual fundraiser campaign with the theme of ‘Building Brighter Futures’ for residents in the River Region. The kickoff today was for equipping volunteers, board members, and staff of the YMCA to help raise funds that will go back into the community. They will do this by asking corporations, businesses, and individuals to donate toward their $1.4 million goal. Each YMCA branch in Montgomery has a different campaign goal they want to reach.

The President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Montgomery stated, “I’ve challenged our team. We’ve never not hit a goal before and this is a lofty one, but I do believe we can do it with the commitment of our board, our staff, and the community. With the long history and legacy of the Y’s impact, I believe this goal is achievable.”

These funds will be used to help the community get food on their table, help with child care, and other beneficial programs our residents need.
