City of Montgomery opening storm shelters

The Montgomery City/County Emergency Management Agency says two shelters will be open in the city in advance of this weekend’s severe weather threat.

The shelters will open at 4PM CDT on Saturday, March 15.

SHELTERS:

The Church of the Highlands (4255 Taylor Road, Montgomery, Alabama, 36116) will be open until the storm threat leaves the area. Pets are not allowed and people are encouraged to bring their own snacks and supplies.

Flatwood Community Center (360 Williams Dr., Montgomery, Alabama, 36110) will also stay open until the storm threat leaves the area. Pets are not allowed and people are encouraged to bring their own snacks and supplies.
