Here are the latest power outage numbers in our area:

Alabama Power:

8:30AM Sunday: Good progress was made overnight in restoring power following severe weather. Service to more than 7,000 customers in central Alabama has been restored since midnight. Reports of damage includes broken power poles and downed wire as a result of fallen trees and large limbs.

At this time, there are 6,650 Alabama Power customers without service in central Alabama as a result of severe weather which continues to move through the area. Outages are concentrated in the following areas:

Tallapoosa County – 2,900 customers
Chilton County – 950 customers
Dallas County – 850 customers
Lee County – 650 customers
Elmore County – 470 customers
Montgomery County – 220 customers
Wilcox County – 200 customers
Autauga County – 130 customers

Fewer outages also exist in Perry and Lowndes Counties.

Dixie Electric:

138 outages, mostly in south Montgomery County and east Macon County

Central Alabama:

6,400 outages in Dallas, Autauga, Elmore, Chilton and Coosa counties

Pioneer Electric:

2,400 outages in Dallas, Wilcox, Butler and Lowndes counties

South Alabama:

46 outages in Pike County
