A man is charged with bringing drugs onto the property of the Montgomery Women’s Facility state prison on Wares Ferry Road in Montgomery County.

Court records state that 60-year-old Christopher Farris of Samson is charged with promoting prison contraband and possession/receipt of a controlled substance. He is being held in the Montgomery County Jail.

According to court records, around 9:40AM yesterday, Farris went to the prison to visit his wife. He gave the officers his keys to his vehicle, and the keys were placed in the shakedown shack.

Records state that Farris appeared nervous and requested to return to his vehicle to get his glasses. After being escorted back to his vehicle, officers said they saw Farris throw an object into his center console. The keys were placed back into the shakedown building.

Court records say prison K-9 units responded and attempted to make contact with Farris because of his suspicious behavior. Farris ran into the shakedown building, jumped the railing, got his keys and ran toward his vehicle.

Farris was eventually taken into custody. Officers searched the vehicle and said they found approximately 2 grams of suboxone in the console.

Court records say Farris confessed to bringing the drugs onto prison property for the purpose of introducing the drugs into the prison population.
