Montgomery firefighters battle fire at apartment building
Montgomery firefighters have battled a fire at an apartment building.
Assistant Fire Chief Stanley Cooper said the fire was reported just a few minutes past midnight this morning in the 3100 block of Biltmore Avenue. That is near the Eastbrook Shopping Center, just off Coliseum Boulevard.
Cooper said the building is a large two-story structure. Hand lines were laid in a unit on the first floor. Everyone got out unhurt.
The fire department chaplain was called to the scene to help the displaced residents.
Cooper said the cause is under investigation.
