ACTION 8 UPDATE: Woman involved in officer-involved shooting that injured 2 others identified
An Elmore County Sheriff Office has released the identity of the woman involved in an officer-involved shooting that injured a deputy and a left a third person hurt.
Elmore County Sheriff Bill Franklin told Action 8 News it happened at around 10:30 this morning on Dozier Road.
Franklin said deputies were responding to a theft call. When they arrived, he said they found 40-year-old Ebony Bracy who is known to the sheriff’s office.
He said when deputies spoke to Bracy, dispatchers told them that she had outstanding warrants, and when deputies tried to take her into custody for questioning, she fired at them.
Franklin said Bracy shot a deputy in the wrist and forearm. He said the deputy fired back, hitting her in the side of the rib cage.
A third person was hit in the thigh.
Franklin said all of the injuries are non-life threatening, and all three were taken to area hospitals by ambulance.
Bracy is charged with two counts of attempted murder and is currently in the Elmore County Jail on a $2 million bond.
