Some rain Wednesday night, then colder and windy Thursday

The last day of winter feels more like spring, but the first day of spring will feel more like winter! A brief cold snap is on the way with some frost potential as temperatures plunge into the low to mid 30s early Friday morning. In the meantime, a frontal boundary moves into our area Wednesday night. We expect a round of showers with a few storms to move through.

We don’t expect anything too strong, but you could hear a rumble or two overnight. We’re on the backside of the front Thursday and a surge of colder air spills into the state. Our sky gradually clears and temperatures drop into the low to mid 30s Friday morning. The colder air allows for frost development. You will need to take care of those cold sensitive plants outside.

The upcoming weekend looks fairly decent at this time. High pressure will be over the region and we’re expecting lots of sunshine Saturday. Temperatures reach the mid 70s during the afternoon. More clouds roll into the area late Sunday and we will introduce a chance for rain Sunday evening. Temperatures should climb into the mid to upper 70s Sunday afternoon.
