Sunshine, warm Sunday; Rain/thunder Sunday night into Monday
Saturday was a pleasant spring day across central and south Alabama. Temperatures were quite cool at sunrise, but warmed into the mid 70s during the afternoon. Sunshine was abundant throughout the day. Saturday night looks mainly clear and cool again, with lows in the low to mid 40s. Sunday looks mostly sunny and warmer with highs near 80°.
Clouds, rain, and some thunder return Sunday night into Monday. The risk for strong to severe storms looks very low in our area. Any storms that move into West Alabama after midnight should be in a weakening mode. A strong wind gust may occur in west-central Alabama. Elsewhere, it looks like rain with some rumbles. Scattered showers linger through Monday morning.
Monday afternoon trends drier with some sunshine. High temperatures range from the low to mid 70s. The rest of next week looks mainly dry. Tuesday through Thursday look partly to mostly sunny. Temperatures warm into the upper 70s Tuesday, then low 80s through the end of the week. Clouds increase Friday. Rain still appears possible next weekend into Monday of the following week.
