Howard was from Huntsville.

Huntington College posted that Howard was a member of the soccer team, joined the lacrosse team and was a member of the Alpha Omicron Pi sorority.

In a Facebook post, the college said:

“Due to an injury upon entering the institution, the Business Administration major never got the opportunity to take the field in a Huntingdon soccer uniform, but recently, she joined the women’s lacrosse team, lending itself to her selfless nature and intentional work ethic.

“Her vibrant attitude, genuine kindness, and endearing personality will be missed not only by those within the Huntingdon community, but by all of those who were blessed by Emma’s presence.”
