Town hall held for Montgomery Public Schools superintendent candidate Dr. Zickeyous Byrd

A town hall meeting has been held for Dr. Zickeyous Byrd, one of two superintendent finalists for Montgomery Public Schools.

Byrd is the former superintendent for Selma City Schools.

At the town hall, he answered questions and provided his vision if he is chosen to lead Montgomery Public Schools.

Fewer than 20 people showed up in person, but there were questions that came from surveys that had been submitted online.

Some of the questions Byrd answered included how he would work with city and county leaders, what unpopular actions he would be willing to take to accomplish the goals of his strategic plan and how he will tackle maintenance issues in existing school buildings.

The second town hall will feature the other finalist, Dr. Harold Wright. Wright is the deputy superintendent of achievement and leadership at the Crowley Independent School District in Fort Worth, Texas. The town hall is Tuesday, March 25 at 5PM at Carver High School.
