Man charged with traveling to Andalusia to have sex with 11-year-old girl
A man has been arrested in Andalusia after investigators say he traveled there to have sex with an 11-year-old girl.
An Andalusia city spokesperson said 55-year-old Breton Etroy Brown of Milton, Florida, has been charged with traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. He is being held on a $150,000 bond. Milton is about 70 miles from Andalusia.
The spokesperson said the girl, who was spending spring break in Andalusia, had told friends she had to do inappropriate things.
Investigators say the girl had a phone that was her mother’s old phone. Sgt. Al McGraw said there was enough evidence on the phone to send him and investigator Aaron Rodriguez of the Covington County Sheriff’s Office to Prattville to confront the girl’s mother.
The mother gave consent for officers to use her phone and Facebook identity to set up a meeting of the mother’s boyfriend with the mother and daughter at the Sunset Inn in Andalusia.
Investigators say the man did travel to Andalusia yesterday, where he was arrested.
Andalusia Police Chief Paul Hudson commended McGraw for his work and expressed appreciation to the Covington County Sheriff’s Office, ALEA and the Covington County District Attorney’s office for their assistance with the case.
