Woman, two teens arrested in string of robberies in Montgomery
A woman and two teenage boys have been arrested after a string of robberies in Montgomery, according to court records.
Records show 23-year-old Demetris Reed, a 15-year-old male and a 17-year-old male are charged with four counts of robbery in the 1st degree and two counts each of firing a gun into an unoccupied vehicle.
Court records say the first robbery happened around 11PM on Wednesday, March 26, at the Home 1 Suites in the 2400 block of Eastern Boulevard. A male and female victim told police that four Black males, all wearing dark clothing, came out of a Dodge Charger, producing guns and demanding property. The male victim told police the suspects stole a Nintendo Switch, $10 and his cell phone. The female victim said some of her clothing and $300 were taken.
Later, officers responded to the 2500 block of Cherry Street to a robbery. A female victim told them that four Black males and a Black female pulled alongside her as she was walking down the street. The male suspects exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at her, while yelling at the victim to give them her money. One of the male suspects snatched her purse and kicked her to the ground. The suspects got back into the car and drove off. The female victim was treated for minor injuries to her hands.
Then officers responded to the 2800 block of Zelda Road after getting a report of a robbery. The victim told police that when he arrived home, three Black males approached him with guns and demanded property. The victim said he reached for his gun, then the suspects started firing at him. The victim ran into his apartment and the suspects fled. Police say two females on the scene said their cars were struck by gunfire.
The following night, Thursday, March 27, at around 7:30PM, court records say officers spotted the Dodge Charger in the area of Fisk Road and McGehee Road. Officers pulled over the vehicle due to it having a switched tag. They say it matched the description from the car in the first robbery. That’s when Reed and the teenagers were taken into custody.
During the search, police say they found a .357 revolver and a Glock replica airsoft handgun.
Court records say Reed and one of the teenagers gave full confessions, while the other teenager refused to give a statement. Reed and one of the teenagers were taken to the Montgomery County Detention Facility, while the other was taken to the Airbase Youth Facility.
