Mainly dry, near-record high temperatures for the rest of this week
April started on a nice note weather-wise across central and south Alabama. Temperatures were cool during the early morning, with lows in the 50s. However, the afternoon was warm, with highs in the low to mid 80s. Sunshine was abundant throughout the day. However, clouds increase late Tuesday night. Temperatures remain warm, with lows in the mid to upper 60s.
The rest of the week looks even warmer, with highs in the upper 80s to around 90° Wednesday through Saturday. Each day features a morning deck of low clouds, which gradually erode by the afternoon. A few stray showers appear possible, especially Thursday and Friday, but most locations remain dry. Saturday looks partly cloudy with isolated showers.
Showers and storms appear likely Sunday. That storm system may bring some severe weather potential to Alabama Sunday into Sunday night. Stay tuned for updates, as models show timing inconsistencies at this time. We should gain a better grasp of the level of storm severity with time also. Rain may linger into next Monday morning, but the rest of the week looks mainly dry. Temperatures turn cooler, with highs in the low to mid 70s next week.
