Prattville man arrested for sexual assault

A Prattville man is in custody accused of sexual assault.

Police say around 8:00 a.m. Sunday, officers were flagged down about a sexual assault that had just occurred at a park. According to court records, the incident happened at Overlook Park.

Officers went to the area and immediately arrested 44-year-old Roderick Harris.

The investigation revealed that Harris and the victim arrived at the park together. After talking to each other, the victim tried to walk back to her vehicle to leave. That’s when police say Harris forced her into the bathroom and sexually assaulted her.

Harris is charged with 1st degree Rape and 1st degree Sodomy.

Harris is currently in the Autauga County Jail on no bond pending an Aniah’s Law hearing.
