The Rain Departs And Colder Air Returns
The rain is moving out and the clouds will gradual follow and we’re setting up for a few days to dry out and cool down a bit. Northerly winds will usher in cool/dry air and we have a couple of chilly nights ahead this week.
In the meantime, the last of the rain activity will exit to the east of us into Georgia this evening. The clouds will gradual clear from west to east later tonight. Temps will fall into the lower to mid 40s overnight. Tuesday starts out a little chilly and despite ample sunshine temps only manage mid to upper 60s for highs.  We experience a brief surge of colder air early Wednesday morning. We’re expecting mid to upper 30s for lows. The cold doesn’t stick around long and we’re warming into the mid to upper 70s Thursday. A frontal system will push its way into and through the state Thursday night into Friday. There’s going to be enough moisture to fuel a few showers Thursday night into early Friday morning. On the backside of the front will be another surge of cooler air just in time for the start of the weekend.
The upcoming weekend will start out a bit chilly Saturday morning. Temps drop into the lower 40s and only manage upper 60s for highs Saturday afternoon. High pressure will build over the region and we’re expecting abundant sunshine through the weekend and into most of next week. Temps will warm and we’re looking at upper 70s to lower 80s for highs early in the work week. We could be reaching mid 80s by the mid and latter half of that week.
