A Chilly Night With Frost Potential North

Clear and dry weather conditions have returned but the air is a bit cooler.   Northerly winds continue to usher in cool/dry air and we have a  chilly night ahead. There could even be some patchy frost, so as a precaution you make want to take care of those tender plants.

In the meantime, we experience a brief surge of colder air early Wednesday morning.  We’re expecting mid to upper 30s for lows. Frost will be possible in spots mainly along and north of the 80/85 corridor.   The cold doesn’t stick around long and we’re warming into the mid to upper 70s Thursday.  A frontal system will push its way into and through the state Thursday night into Friday.  There’s going to be enough moisture to fuel a few showers Thursday night into early Friday morning.  On the backside of the front will be another surge of cooler air just in time for the start of the weekend.

The upcoming weekend will start out a bit chilly Saturday morning. Temps drop into the lower 40s and only manage upper 60s for highs Saturday afternoon. High pressure will build over the region and we’re expecting abundant sunshine through the weekend and into most of next week. Temps will warm and we’re looking at upper 70s to lower 80s for highs early in the work week.  We could be reaching mid 80s by the mid and latter half of that week.
