Ribbon cut on U.S. Highway 82 project in Prattville

The ribbon has been cut on an improvement project on U.S. Highway 82 in Prattville.

Gov. Kay Ivey and other state and local dignitaries attended the event this morning outside the Prattville Pentecostal Church.

The project was one of the projects in the first batch of Rebuild Alabama projects from Gov. Ivey and the Alabama Department of Transportation. The stretch covers a long-term widening portion of approximately 2.75 miles from U.S. Highway 31 to Alabama Highway 14.

U.S. Highway 82 runs from around Columbus, Mississippi, to the Chattahoochee River in Eufaula.

Gov. Ivey was joined by State Sen. Clyde Chambliss, State Rep. Van Smith, State Rep. Jerry Starnes, State Rep. Kelvin Lawrence and Prattville Mayor Bill Gillespie, among others.
