Southside-Selma violates AHSAA transfer rule
Southside-Selma High School’s varsity baseball program has been fined and placed on probation for playing an ineligible student-athlete in violation of the AHSAA’s Transfer Rule.  Southside-Selma High School self-reported the violation.
As a result, Southside-Selma High School’s varsity baseball team must forfeit all games won in which the ineligible student participated. The ineligible player is assessed restitution for the contests he participated in while ineligible.
Also as a result, Southside-Selma, which finished second in Class 3A, Area 4 and was scheduled to play Flomaton in the first round of the AHSAA Class 3A state baseball championships beginning Friday, April 18, will not advance to the baseball playoffs. Dallas County becomes the runner-up from Class 3A, Area 4 and will advance to the state playoffs to face Flomaton.
