The Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic is moving to Cramton Bowl in Montgomery for the 2025 football season.

The game is the oldest football rivalry among Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HCBUs), dating to the early 1900s.

The game has previously been held in Columbus, Georgia, which is between the campuses of Tuskegee University, based in Tuskegee, and Morehouse College, which is in Atlanta.

“Montgomery is proud to welcome the Tuskegee-Morehouse Classic to the historic Cramton Bowl in 2025,” Montgomery Mayor Steven Reed said.

“This iconic rivalry not only showcases the excellence of HBCU athletics but also celebrates the profound cultural and historical contributions of Morehouse College and Tuskegee University. Our city, a cornerstone of the civil rights movement, is the perfect backdrop for this cherished tradition. We look forward to hosting the student-athletes, alumni, and fans for a weekend of unity, pride, and unforgettable moments that will resonate for years to come.”

Having the game in Montgomery will offer fans the chance to explore the city’s civil rights history.

“Tuskegee University is honored to play in this long-standing football classic game in the city of Montgomery, Alabama. We are so honored for the opportunity and so thankful to Mayor Reed, city officials, and local leaders for making this Classic Football game possible. Having the opportunity to continue the legacy and rich history and tradition will make it possible for our administration, students, fans and alumni to enjoy all that this Classic has to offer. We are grateful and we look forward to another awesome Classic weekend in October against Morehouse College in the Capital City of Montgomery, Alabama,” Tuskegee University Athletic Director Reginald Ruffin said.

“We are proud to partner with my Morehouse brother, Mayor Steven Reed, to uphold the legacy of this historic rivalry, which dates back to the early 1900s—making it the oldest HBCU football rivalry. Montgomery holds a special place in our hearts. We have a strong and passionate Alumni Association in the area, and I have no doubt they will show up and show out for this Classic,” Morehouse College Athletic Director Harold Ellis said.

Additional details, including ticketing information and event schedules, will be announced in the coming months.
