8 ON YOUR SIDE CONSUMER ALERT: Huffy is recalling nearly 50-thousand ride-on toy vehicles.
One recall involves more than 23,000 12-volt ride-on Tonka dump trucks.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission says the controller can overheat, creating a burn and fire hazard.
Huffy says there were three reports of the controller overhearing and a report of a fire that burned up a truck. There are no reports of injuries.
These trucks were sold nationwide at Target and Sam’s Club.
If you have this truck, you should stop using it and contact Huffy for a free replacement controller.
The other recall involves nearly 25,000 Huffy-branded Torex 24-volt utility terrain vehicles that were sold at Walmart.
This toy can overheat due to improper wiring, creating a fire hazard.
There have been 20 reports of these vehicles smoking or catching fire, causing five minor burns.
Owners of these vehicles should stop using them and contact Huffy to set up a free repair.
